Westall Park Natural Burial Ground

All are invited, however please see ‘Additional information’ for extra advice on clothing and footwear!

Westall Park is one of the UK’s finest natural burial grounds and aims to create a place which those who wish to remember their loved ones will want to visit, not out of a sense of duty, but from the pleasure and peace of mind it can evoke. Westall Park has created an eco-friendly cemetery as a place for quiet reflection in an informal setting amongst trees, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually it will become a woodland glade, full of nature where all wildlife is encouraged to thrive.

Address: Holberrow Green, Nr Redditch, Worcestershire, B96 6JY

Your involvement

This is a chance for everyone to acknowledge Alan’s death, but it is also to celebrate his life. Jennie would love you to share your thoughts, stories or poems that remind you of Alan, and if you don’t feel up to reading them yourself, there will be someone available to do this for you.

When you arrive at Westall Park you will find pens to write messages with on Alan’s coffin – please feel free to bring any other items with you that you would like to stick on his coffin – anything goes!

    Alan was one of life’s rarities, a gentleman of the old school, genuinely interested in what others had to say. Always ready to strike up a conversation, no matter who with, in a shop, a restaurant or even in the street, these were Alan’s playgrounds. His dry and wry sense of humour always made for a lively and interesting conversation! we will surely miss him – a lot. Jeff & Karen Stone

    Take from me all earthly raiment and place me deep in my
    Mother earth; and place me with care upon my mother’s breast.
    Cover me with soft earth, and let each handful be mixed
    with seeds of jasmine, lilies and myrtle; and when they
    grow above me, and thrive on my body’s element they will
    breathe the fragrance of my heart into space;
    And reveal even to the sun the secret of my peace;
    and sail with the breeze and comfort the wayfarer.
