Nicola’s family would like this to be a celebration of her life so have asked if everyone could wear something with purple or with butterflies.
Nicola’s family would be grateful if you didn’t send any flowers and instead are asking for donations to be made in her name to ‘Friends of Victoria’
Nicola attended Victoria Special School and then graduated onto Victoria College where she was treated with great care and respect. Friends of Victoria raise money to enhance the education, and provide important “extras” for all of the very special children and students who study there.
If you wish to donate in advance you can visit the Just Giving page which Anne has set up: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nicola-Marie-Barnes
Donations will also be collected at Nicola’s funeral.
NICOLA YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED AND IT WAS SUCH AN HONOUR TO HAVE KNOWN YOU .
“ WEAVED IN THE PAIN OF LOSING YOU
THERE ARE TREADS OF HOPE AND
BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES WHICH
WILL LIVE FOREVER ”
A poem for nic, who we always have, and always will, think of, when we see butterflies
A butterfly lights beside us – author unknown
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment it’s glory
And beauty belong to our world
But then it flies on again
And, although we wish it could have stayed
We are so thankful to have seen it At all
Gina, mark and children xx

Wow, what lovely special things people said about you today at your Celebration. You would have loved the wonderful purple outfits and mass of butterflies. Your lovely smiles were mentioned a lot. I just want to add that I think you were an incredibly strong and brave person, overcoming many adversities and bouncing back to being our Nic so many times. Thank you for that and thank you for the joy you brought to our lives. If you were having a happy day, then everyone around you was certainly having a happy day too! Know that you will be forever loved and missed by us all.
