Arrangements for the funeral of Paul Hickey

Friday 18th March 2016 at 11am,

Westall Park Natural Burial Ground, Worcestershire

Family and friends are gathering to acknowledge Paul’s passing, and to celebrate his life.

A ceremony and burial will take place at Westall Park Natural Burial Ground. You are then welcome to join the family for some food and plenty of cups of tea at the Country Girl pub in Selly Oak.

The family would like you to bring a photo or message that reminds you of Paul. Before the service starts they would like everyone to be involved in decorating his coffin with messages and pictures to remind us of his life.

If you aren’t able to come to the funeral and would like to send the family a message, picture or any memories you would like to share, send them to his sister Sue at suebrowne67@gmail.com or you can leave messages in the comments below.

Please share this link with anyone who may wish to know about the funeral.

Please see below for directions and further information.

Westall Park is one of the UK’s finest natural burial grounds and aims to create a place which those who wish to remember their loved ones will want to visit, not out of a sense of duty, but from the pleasure and peace of mind it can evoke. Westall Park has created an eco-friendly cemetery as a place for quiet reflection in an informal setting amongst trees, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually it will become a woodland glade, full of nature where all wildlife is encouraged to thrive.

Westall Park is a field which can get muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable!

Paul’s family would prefer that you didn’t buy any flowers.

If you would like to make a donation in Paul’s memory, we will be collecting for Oxfam on the day of the funeral. Alternatively you can make a donation on the Oxfam donation page.

Paul has left a big void in our company that will never be filled. He was simply unique, kind, funny and warm hearted. I will miss our walks up the chase and the strange conversations that we had. My sympathy goes out to his family, I have no words that can say how sad we are for you. Rest in peace my friend.

Paul was a sincere individual, a kind soul and a great friend who had a wicked sense of humour. We worked together for many years and shared a few times propping up the bar in Ireland. I will miss our times together both at work and over a beer. He loved the outdoors and travel and we talked many a time of his journeys even through his local park, and other varied topics. He will be greatly missed by all at work who knew him. Rest in peace Paul.
