Westall Park is one of the UK’s finest natural burial grounds and aims to create a place which those who wish to remember their loved ones will want to visit, not out of a sense of duty, but from the pleasure and peace of mind it can evoke. Westall Park has created an eco-friendly cemetery as a place for quiet reflection in an informal setting amongst trees, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually it will become a woodland glade, full of nature where all wildlife is encouraged to thrive.

At a later date Gillian’s family will be planting a tree in her memory.

Address: Holberrow Green, Nr Redditch, Worcestershire, B96 6JY

A map can be found by clicking this link.

Westall Park is a field which can get muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable. Dress for the weather!

Gillian loved bright clothes so please avoid black if you can.

Family flowers only please.

If you would like to make a donation in Gillian’s memory, we will be holding a collection on the day of the funeral for Mental Health Research UK. This was established in 2008 as the UK’s first charity dedicated to funding research into mental illness in order to develop better treatments with fewer side-effects.

Alternatively, you can donate directly to them.  There’s lots of information on how to do this on their website HERE

As a family we were so sorry to hear of Gillians death. We lived next door in Hambleton Avenue, Osbaldwick for 24 years before moving to Haxby. Gillian used to love coming round when our daughter Sarah was born on 24 December 50 years ago .A wonderful family. We would love to come but don’t think we can but will do our best. Love to all the family. Sheila and Peter Fowler and daughters Sarah and Jennie

To Stuart, Helen and Katie. My sincere condolences to you all at this extremely difficult time. Gill and I worked together for many years. Gill worked extremely hard, was very dedicated and always had the students best interests in mind. I remember Gill buzzing around Finance and Registry, almost always in a jovial mood, then at lunchtime, with her gym bag on her back, ready for keep fit with her friends. Gill will be missed by many colleagues and ex colleagues in Finance and around the University and there will be a number of us from Finance to say farewell.
