Westall Park is one of the UK’s finest natural burial grounds and aims to create a place which those who wish to remember their loved ones will want to visit, not out of a sense of duty, but from the pleasure and peace of mind it can evoke. Westall Park has created an eco-friendly cemetery as a place for quiet reflection in an informal setting amongst trees, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually it will become a woodland glade, full of nature where all wildlife is encouraged to thrive.

Westall Park is a field which can get muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable. Dress for the weather!
Family flowers only please, though if you like you can bring with you a single flower to place on Sean’s coffin.
The cemetery is a natural one, and will ultimately beome woodland. If you do want to bring flowers they should be as natural as possible, without foam, wire or cellophane wrappers etc.
(Please ring the undertaker for further advice: 0121 444 0437).
The family wants to organise a lasting memorial for Sean – either a tree or area of woodland dedicated in his name, so you may contribute to this at the funeral if you wish to do so.

Colleagues and I had the privilege of working with Sean on a wide range of printed and digital educational resources to support the teaching of computer science in schools. Several hundred thousands of students across the world have benefited from the work that he produced, and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to know him and to have collaborated on our projects over the past 15 years.
Sean was an extremely intelligent and generous man, I worked with him as an examiner many times and he helped me out enormously during my first few years. He was witty and funny at times, but he never stopped talking about his family and particularly his daughter’s wedding. We’ll miss you Sean 🙁
I worked with Sean for a relatively short period of time but I will always remember the way he spoke so lovingly about his family, his wife and children, and the up and coming family wedding. Thinking of you at this difficult time
Sean was a great guy, we always spoke about our love for cats and how he always wanted to get out of the meetings as soon as he could to get home to fuss with his cat. We chatted about the fact he was a new Addington boy and we spoke about what has changed since he left (not too much). He will be greatly missed.
Sean was a lovely man with a truly great mind. He sill be greatly missed, but his work and the many memories made will live on. Thinking of all the family at this time.
Sean’s work for OCR as a former chief examiner and principal moderator for GCSE Computer Science unit A452 will always be missed greatly by our team but his work will live on. He was an intelligent and hard working man whose assessment knowledge of Computer Science as a GCSE subject will always be remembered. Thinking of all the family members at this very sad time.
I’ve sent you a message via Facebook, Yvonne. Cx
I met Sean at university and we have been friends ever since. I appreciated his humour, advice and friendship and will appreciate for ever his introduction to the works of Mahler and Bruckner. When I hear them my mind conjures up images of Newman House (particularly the bar) and Portland Road, not to mention walking trips in Wales and occasional excursions into the wilds of Shropshire to purchase sacks of potatoes! He will be sadly missed but his good humour lives on. I send my sympathies, and those of my wife Anne, to Yvonne and the family.
I worked with Séan at OCR for a number of years, firstly in the development of the first GCSE in Computer Science and then as Chief Examiner for the developed qualification. He was great to work with and a good team player. He was also extremely enthusiastic about the subject. I too had many conversations about his family, the wedding and his love of the Arts. He is at peace now. God bless you Séan and the family you leave behind.
