Diana Robertson

Diana RobertsonArrangements for the funeral of Diana Robertson

Monday 11th March from Midday at Cookhill Village Hall

Family and friends are gathering at Cookhill Village Hall to acknowledge Diana’s death, and to celebrate her life.

A farewell service will take place in the village hall. Please arrive from midday for a service at 12.15.

Refreshments will be served directly after the service in the hall for everyone, during which time you can chat and share further memories of Diana.

At around 3pm, those that wish to, will travel in convoy for the short distance from the village hall to Westall Park Natural Burial Ground. Here a few more words will be spoken before Diana is laid to rest.

Below you will find directions and further information about the day, and please feel free to send any messages to Diana’s family via the comments area below.

Please share this link with anyone who may wish to know about the funeral.

Westall Park is one of the UK’s finest natural burial grounds and aims to create a place which those who wish to remember their loved ones will want to visit, not out of a sense of duty, but from the pleasure and peace of mind it can evoke. Westall Park has created an eco-friendly cemetery as a place for quiet reflection in an informal setting amongst trees, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually it will become a woodland glade, full of nature where all wildlife is encouraged to thrive.

Diana always liked to be smart but not overly formal, so the dress code for the day is smart casual. Black is not necessary, and if you are coming to the burial please dress warmly.

Westall Park is essentially parkland which can get muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable.

Please do not bring flowers – although she loved flowers, Diana always thought it was such a waste at funerals.

If you would like to make a donation in Diana’s memory, we will be holding a collection on the day of the funeral in aid of CLIC Sargent, a charity supporting children and young people with cancer.

Alternatively, you can donate directly via their website HERE

I’ve known Diana for twenty years. I’ve known her as a colleague and as a good friend. She was always cheerful and fun to work with with in the very challenging area in which we specialised. This work needs great skills of conscientiousness, insight and inter-personal skills and Diana had these in abundance. I fine it hard to believe that she’s gone and I shall miss her very much.

Having known Diana since 1997 and valued her very much as a colleague, and friend, in Harborne and later Selly Oak, I feel very sad that she lost this second round of her battle with cancer. From my perspective, she was a great person to work with in groups and was marked out by her clear, strong moral values, and her heartfelt commitment to working – in practical and tangible ways – to make sure children didn’t get harmed. She was also good company socially! She will be much-missed.
I am so sorry not to be able to get to join others in Cookhill on Monday, and will keep you all and Diana very much in my thoughts during the day.
