There are no words to describe how deeply sorry I am to hear this news of Max. My best memory of him was his wickedly dry sense of humor and a very special bond he had with his sister, Hilary. Brothers like Max are so special and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved this man xx
I feel much regret that I only met Max a couple of times, but on each occasion he was so welcoming and warm, it seemed that I’d known him for ages. With his sense of fun and generosity of spirit, he was undoubtedly a fantastic chap; I am thankful to have shared some time with him.
More importantly, the loving and lovely connection between Max and his sister Hilary was a beautiful thing to behold. Their support for one another and general camaraderie was special, an inspiration. My deepest sympathy to Hilary and family, and everyone that Max has left behind.
Eyes that smiled for all of us,
How lucky we are
To have been warmed by his glow
I knew Max for nearly 9 years, since I started in post as his Crohns specialist nurse. As he was on regular infusions I got to know him well and he always brought a smile to your face with his cheeky grin and twinkle in his eye, the picture of him on here is perfect and just how I will remember him. We were all deeply shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden passing and our deepest sympathies go to all those he leaves behind, Helen, Dr Hudson and all of the staff on the medical daycase unit.
I worked with Max at Cambion Electronics and myself and my husband also got to know him socially we were not married when we first met him that was 36 years ago. The last time I saw him was when he visited Castleton 2 years ago, he had many friends at Cambion and I have been in touch with some including some now living out of the UK. We would all like to pass on our condolences we have some wonderful memories of Max he was a great guy. I was just about to email him last night and something made me look on the internet to see if his company was still around and I was shocked to find information he had passed away and we have missed his funeral. I have sent an email to his company and hope his family can get in touch I am not sure if they see these messages and I know they must be devastated.
