Pete was the kindest, most compassionate man I have ever met and I am honoured to be known as one of his friends. What I will always remember is the laughter he always brought to our social meetings. He made us laugh and he laughed at us and the joy he brought to my life is how I will remember him and is my aim to spread further in his memory.

I will miss you Pete…so much and I look forward to seeing you again when my time comes-it’s comforting knowing I have a friend waiting for me ‘over there’. I love you Peter…..

Farewell, my dearest and recently-found cousin: we barely got to know each other.
We did so enjoy each other’s company as our embryonic relationship developed – but never allowed to mature.
Dorothy and I will always cherish our reunion with Usha and Anisha in your home last year, forever thankful that you blessed your presence on this planet with her.

Pete was a very special guy – a kind gentle giant. I was lucky to have him as my friend for 24 yrs. A generous, supportive, kind man with a booming laugh and sense of humour. I have some many happy memories of our laughs together. You will be so very sadly missed but never forgotten old friend.

It is such a great loss and sadness what has happened. Peter was such a kind, happy and caring man. He would always make time to ask how I was or say hello. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Peter, we will miss you so very much. You are amazing, so loved by every single person in Usha’s family. We remember your laugh, your jokes and leg-pulling, your love of all things connected to Celine Dion….. Above all what an amazing husband to Usha and incredible dad to Anisha, a real role model for everyone else. We will truly miss you when we plan our future get togethers, and we will always remember you with so much love and affection……. All our love, thoughts and prayers are with the three of you.

Peter cared, cared for everyone important to him, his family, friends and patients. He managed to be both compassionate and fantastically humorous. I have fond memories of him chasing our kids around so i could sit and rest, bringing cabbage leaves for my breast-feeding troubles and coming round when Mark’s knee was apparently causing him more pain than child-birth! His main fault was his choice in celebrity women, Princess Anne, Clare Balding and Celine Dion weren’t classic choices however it certainly got it right with Usha. I will always remember him great fondness. Gone way too soon. Always here for you Usha and Anisha xx

Peter we remember having such a great time with you in the Cotswolds, enjoying breakfast at the lavender bake house, walking around the beautiful Bourton on the water. Your humour was our kind of humour, you made us laugh a lot. Our kids adored you, as did most people. You made people feel so at ease and you were kind and considerate. We will miss you so much.

    Pete ..
You and Usha were patient, understanding and supportive friends when we needed support …
You were a master baker ( the best Victoria Sponge Cake ) and flower garland carrier at our wedding……
You were the star of the show with your singing and dancing at your karaoke birthday celebration ….
You were a wonderful and committed father and husband …..
You are loved and you will always be missed …..

I have struggled to find the right words so please forgive me for using someone else’s:

God called you name so softly
    That only you could hear
    And no-one heard the footsteps
    Of angels drawing near
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home (anon)

Peter you were one of the kindest, funniest, compassionate, professional and genuine nurses I have ever had the privilege of working with. You leave a big hole in our team and I will miss you immensely, and I will never forget the fact that only you could call me Sister Smith. You were my colleague, my confidante and above all my friend. All my love, thoughts and prayers are with you, Usher and Anisha xxx

So sorry we can not attend the funeral we are both working here at MIU Stratford. Pete was a very special person who lit up the room with his kindness and sense of humour. He had a way of making everyone feel special and cared for. We missed him so much when he left us to work at the GP and spend time with his lovely wife and much longed for daughter. So sad that he has gone so tragically soon and our love and thoughts are with all his family and friends especially Usha and Anisha .
